Earlier this week I received an enquiry from a guy called Yurii about this Sinead O'Connor record asking if I could just comfirm it's condition; no problem. Then the next day he asked if someone in Berlin could come and collect the record? I don't normally do pick-ups but I make exceptions as in this case because Yurii lives in Kiev. And so this Sunday morning I made the handover to a supportive friend who will get the shipment to Ukraine. The record is intended as a birthday gift. As to the title of this album, there are many things that I don't have which I do my best not to dwell on. Likewise there are also things that I hope I never have and I guess people like Yurii didn't want them either, but they had no choice.

Friday 9 May 2025 - The Weekend Is Here!

This weekend's suggestion are songs that I consider to be 'pop perfection'. You young people out there will not remember Mix-Tapes which were lovingly crafted over many hours or days on C90 cassetes and were intended to show the one you love how much they meant to you! Time walks on and thanks to Sony Walkmans, Mini-Disc, Apple iPods, iTunes and now streaming it's incredibly easy to put together a well curated playlist. I often think of Rosanne Cash who released an album of her father Johnny's favourite songs - 'The List' - and tried to emulate it. It's tricky...

My own list is very fluid and ever changing but most of these songs below are set in stone and have the ability to move me emotionally and physically...and this is just a drop in the ocean.

Here's a link to the music:

On certain days, I find myself binge-listening to a collection of newly acquired LPs in order to meticulously evaluate their condition before adding them to my store. However, before any LPs even reach my turntable and stylus, they must undergo a thorough three-stage cleaning process. Over the past few days, I have carefully listened to the following records - most of them 100% and on both sides. They are now available in The RTR Store.
