Well not just weekends - any day will do...
Especially those with more than 24 hours in them. No roadmap here, just a running commentary on the music that finds it's way onto The Radio Tower Records Turntable or SACD Player.
The Love of Vinyl Records
Vinyl has a unique sound quality and a tactile experience all of it's own
And it's not just the plastic; the large format artwork is an important visual element
Collecting new old stuff: It's still a thrill finding never heard before sounds
And CDs as well...
No issues here with the CD Format - bring it on with all it's advantages
There are some wonderful CD only Box Sets out there waiting to be discovered
The Listening Equipment...
With a listening room which would leave any self-respecting hi-fi installation engineer speechless the whole set-up here is at best a compromise - having said that:
The 'RTR Turntable' is a Clearaudio Concept fitted with The Artist V2 Cartridge
The SACD Player is the beautiful K1 Ruby designed by Ken Ishiwata Limited Edition #57
The loudspeakers are the gorgeous & timeless Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors
And all of the above is powered and controlled by a mighty mosfet Perreaux Classic combination from New Zealand with an authority that is not to be messed with
Favourite Albums and Artists...
I will be diving into some personal favourites; highlighting some standout albums that have shaped my musical tastes. And new stuff too - or at least new to me. And also underrated gems which need to be heard or at least acknowledged
The Evolution of My Music Taste...
With 55 years of collecting behind me but sadly not ahead of me my musical journey is sometimes like a yo-yo. Some records are still with me since I was a teenager. The digital age and streaming platforms have helped me discover so much new music but it's a fine art in finding that balance between instant media overload and fully embracing just one album or song
Finding The Time..
There will never be enough time but I'm content with the time I have. Now in retirement, each day is a blessing and my music plays a large part of each and every day. Starting Radio Tower Records in 2021 was an inspired decision which now keeps me busy enough to keep boredom at bay. And with this new Blog I will try to share my time and the music I'm listening to with you dear reader
So Come On In...
And see what's playing
