David Hepworth - Deep 70's & More Deep 70's Underrated Cuts From A Misunderstood Decade
Undiscovered Jewels From Music's Most Action Packed Decade

The 70's were my musical proving ground and shaped my then still young teenage mind. There was a lot of music that has since become legendary and there was also a lot of crap which is best forgotten. However, there was a lot of stuff simply not appreciated or understood at the time and which 55 years later may need some kind of reappraisal.

And that's where these two excellent collections compiled by David Hepworth come in.
Each of these is a 4 CD hardback book with over 30 pages of informative notes on the near 150 titles.
A fantastic listen and great for someone like me not only to fill in the many gaps in my musical education but also to hear again songs that I always knew were great.
Hours of pleasure and a lots of memories too.

Tomorrow night on Thursday May 1st Tangerine Dream are playing the final night of their tour in Berlin at The Admiral Palast and I'm so excited. The trouble with TanDream is that there is just so much product to listen to...but tomorrow is another day. But today though it's The Warzaw Concert which recently came my way in a second-hand collection. This is a stunner and I had to resort to the internet to help me describe what I want to say; 'Poland: The Warsaw Concert captures Tangerine Dream at the height of their sequencer-driven, atmospheric power, performing live in Warsaw on December 10, 1983, during a rare visit by a Western electronic act to a then-communist Eastern Bloc nation. It’s a bold, sprawling, emotionally charged live album that combines improvisation, technical mastery, and a deep awareness of setting and mood. It’s more than just a concert recording - it’s a time capsule, a soundscape of technological awe and quiet rebellion, echoing through the frost of Cold War Europe'.
That sums it up nicely thank you; this album is four sides long and the only way to improve on it in my opinion is to find a CD version which is not truncated. A real gem.
